Financial Literacy Program

Financial literacy equips us with the knowledge to build a strong financial foundation and is essential for achieving financial independence and avoiding common pitfalls like excessive debt or poor money management. By learning these skills, individuals can build a secure financial future, reduce stress, and contribute to a stronger economy.

However, numerous studies indicate that a significant portion of the U.S. population lacks adequate financial knowledge:

  • Youth Financial Literacy: A 2021 survey revealed that 75% of American teens lack confidence in their understanding of personal finance. Additionally, 41% of teens were unaware of what a 401(k) is, and 32% didn't know the difference between a credit card and a debit card.

  • Financial Anxiety: Over 56% of adults report feeling anxious when thinking about their financial situation, and 42% think about their finances daily.

  • Living Paycheck to Paycheck: As of 2023, 61% of adults live paycheck to paycheck, indicating a widespread lack of financial security.

These statistics underscore the importance of financial education programs, such as the Strive Forward Financial Literacy Program, which empowers individuals to manage their finances effectively.

Strive Forward is pleased to collaborate with Bettis Financial to develop a program for students that provides personalized financial education. â€‹
